The Emperor shrimp (Periclimenes imperator)is regularly found on the Spanish Dancer Nudibranch (Hexabranchus sanguineus) which it uses as a host (along with carious sea cucumbers). Color variations of this species depend heavily on the coloration of the host species.
This speciman was located on a night dive on the 'Lobster Point' dive site off the coast of Mabul Island in Sabah, Malaysia.
