A Tritonia hamnerorum Nudibranch moves across a Common Sea Fan (Gorgonia ventalina) in Islamorada, Florida. This relatively small tritoniid feeds exclusively on gorgonian sea fans and is sometimes found in large numbers.
This nudibranch removes distasteful chemicals from the sea fans and stores them for its own defence.
It is estimated that over 300 individuals were on this one sea fan, and they were present of all the sea fans on this particular dive site.
