The allied cowrie Calpurnus verrucosus is a well adapted predator of leather corals of the genus Sarcophyton. This it is unsurprising to see this specimen on such a coral on a night dive in the Banda Sea in Indonesia.
A beautiful cowrie with a simple spotted pattern in the mantle.
