The fin of a partially buried orange colored Spiny Devilfish (Inimicus didactylus) in the shallows on the dive site around the Kapalai dive resort. Like many stone and scorpion fish the fins are often highly decorative, though rarely seen.
Considering how shallow this fish was buried, and the abundance of people wading in the water near by, it is surprising that more people do not get spiked by this fish.
This resort is built on stilts above the Ligitan Reefs in Borneo, Malaysia, as natural erosion has destroyed the original island that was located here.
