A relative herd of Tritonia hamnerorum nudibranchs feeding on a Common Sea Fan (Gorgonia ventalina) on the Davis Reef dive site off the coast of Key Largo, Florida.
These relatively small tritoniids feeds exclusively on gorgonian sea fans and is sometimes found in large numbers. This nudibranch not only feeds on these fans but also removes distasteful chemicals from the sea fans and stores them for its own defense.
