A male Harlequin Shrimp (Hymenocera elegans) as it sits on a rock on the Tulamben Slopes dive site in Tulamben Bay in Bali, Indonesia. His female mate is just out of frame.
These shrimp are often found in pairs and are fiercely territorial. They prey generally on sea stars.
Tulamben Slopes is one of the premier muck diving sites in the world, featuring black sand slopes that are some of the richest in the world.
