(see this users gallery) A small orange spotted juvenile Painted Frogfish (Antennarius pictus) hidden on a small boat wreck which is part of the dive site around the Kapalai dive resort. This resort is built on stilts above the Ligitan Reefs in Borneo, Malaysia, as natural erosion has destroyed the original island that was located here.
This spectacular and ornate coloration is displayed by juveniles of this species, which will then turn to a single color as the fish matures. This fish was approximately 2" in size.
