A Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas) swims in blue water near the stern of the wreck of the SS Yongala. Several turtles make their home on this wreck, some of which have been there for several decades.
The SS Yongala was a passenger ferry that sunk with all hands off the coast of Townsville in Queensland, Australia on March 23rd 1911. Since then it has become one of the premier dive sites in the world and has been designated as a protected national site by the Australian Government under the Historic Shipwrecks Act 1976
