(see this users gallery) A large Olive Sea Snake (Aipysurus laevis) swims near the wreck of the SS Yongala.
Like all sea snakes it has a flattened tail and is an excellent swimmer. They carry some of the most deadly poisons found in the animal kingdom but fortunately they have very small fangs and are not aggressive animals. Having few natural predators they have a tendency to be inquisitive and will often approach divers.
