A large multi colored Crinoid (Comantheria briareus) on a large Bushy Black Coral (Antipathes sp.) on the Davies Reef system in the Great Barrier Reef off of Townsville, Queensland.
This is the largest and most common of the Black Coral species worldwide and is generally found in areas where a moderate to strong current runs, bringing nutrients into the large filter feeding polyps and arms of these corals.
