A pale pink or orange color phased Warty Frogfish (Antennarius maculatus) sits amongst the rocks on the bottom of the ocean floor on the shore muck dive at Basura at Anilao in the Batangas region of the The Philippines.
Frogfish are ambush predators and through coloration and selection of their location they lie in wait for their prey to swim by then explode forward to capture their target.
This fish is often known as the Clown Frogfish, especially when in the small, white phase rather than this coloration phase.
