A pale white/grayish colored Smallscale Scorpionfish (Scorpaenopsis oxycephalus) lies on a blue Elephant Ear Sponge (Ianthella basta) on a coral reef on the Aphol dive site in Anilao, Mibini located in the Batangas Bay region of The Philippines.
These ambush predators are the most common of the Scorpionfish species found in tropical Asian waters.
