A Fire Sea Urchin (Asthenosoma varium) moves across the ocean floor on the Twin Rocks shore dive in front of the Planet Dive resort in Anilao in the Batangas area of The Philippines.
This specimen has yet to reach its full growth of spines or obtain adult coloration.
The spines of this urchin are venomous and can produce a painful sting if touched with the pain often lasting several hours.
