(see this users gallery) A group Long beaked Common Dolphins (Delphinus capensis) coming through a baitball as part of their attack. These dolphins form these Sardine Bait Balls during the famous Sardine Run off the Wild Coast of South Africa near Port St Johns.
Common Dolphins are the primary predators during the Sardine Run, and form and maintain the bait balls. The Sardine Run occurs each year, starting as early as June and lasting through August, as millions of tons of sardines migrate up the east coast of South Africa.
