A total aerial assault on a bait ball, leaves several Cape Gannets (Morus capensis) swimming in the water as they start to head back to the surface.
One of the deadliest predators on the Sardine Run, these birds dive bomb the bait ball, often reaching a depth of 30 or 40 feet, and then swim back to the surface to try again.
