(see this users gallery) A group of silhouetted Long beaked Common Dolphins (Delphinus capensis) swim through a Sardine Bait Ball during the famous Sardine Run off the Wild Coast of South Africa near Port St Johns.
Common Dolphins are the primary predators during the Sardine Run, and form and maintain the bait balls. The Sardine Run occurs each year, starting as early as June and lasting through August, as millions of tons of sardines migrate up the east coast of South Africa.
