(see this users gallery) Sequence of a Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) explodes out of the water to perform a breach off the coastline of the Wild Coast region of South Africa near Port St Johns.
One of the most amazing sights in the world is that of a Whale breaching. It is amazing to see something this large come completely out of the water with apparent ease, and then cause an immense splash upon landing.
These enormous whales can grown to upwards of 52 feet and weigh as much as 50 tons which makes them one of the largest mammal alive today.
