One of the most amazing sights in the world is that of a Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) breaching. It is amazing to see something this large come completely out of the water with apparent ease, and cause an immense splash upon landing.
This sequence shows a Humpback Whale go through a full breach off the coastline of the Wild Coast region of South Africa near Port St Johns.
These whales can grown to upwards of 52 feet and weigh as much as 50 tons.
