A Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) lands after breaching. It is amazing to see something this large come completely out of the water with apparent ease, and cause an immense splash upon landing. Here, this whale peforms a spin while breaching, with pectoral fins flying in all directions adding extra drama to this leap.
These whales can grown to upwards of 52 feet and weigh as much as 50 tons. They are also responsible for majority of the more beautiful the 'whale songs' that have become synomous with the general public.
