(see this users gallery) One of the most amazing sights in the world is that of a Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) breaching. This sequence of images shows the full breach from the initial jump through the large splash something this size can cause.
It is amazing to see something this large come completely out of the water with apparent ease, and cause an immense splash upon landing.
These whales can grown to upwards of 52 feet and weigh as much as 50 tons. They are also responsible for majorit of the more beautiful the 'whale songs' that have become synomous with the general public.
