A juvenile Blue Tang (Acanthurus coeruleus) swims over a coral reef at the Aligator Reef dive site off the coast of Key Largo / Tavernier in Florida, USA.
The spectacular yellow juvenile phase is extremely bright, especially compared to most other local fish.
The spine on the base of tail fin is extremely sharp and has been sompared to a scapel, leading to the common surgeonfish name. These common surgeonfish often appear in large aggregations over shallow coral reefs.
