Possibly a color variation of a Saddled Blenny (Malacoctenus triangulatus) sitting on top of a coral reef ledge on the Alligator Reef system off the coast of Key Largo and Islamorada in Florida.
Normally this blenny would have several black saddles and red spots rather than the distinct red blotches towards the tail of this speciman.
These small blennys move around the open reef occasionally stop to perch in the shown tipod like stance using their pectoral fins and supported by their tail and rear of their body.
