A large Green Moray Eel (Gymnothorax funebris) swims under a coral reef ledge on the French Reef system off the coast of Key Largo in Florida, USA.
This is the largest of the caribbean Moray Eel species and can exceed 6' in length. The open and closing of the mouth demonstrated by all moray species is not a threat despite its appearance It is necessary for the respiration of the eel.
