The head of a Saddled Snake Eel (Leiuranus semicinctus) hunting across the sand on the ocean floor surrounding Phi Phi Island off the coast of Phuket, Thailand in the Andaman Sea.
This Snake Eel generally spends its time buried completely in the sand, but occassionally emerge to hunt during the day, generally looking for crustaceans and other species that also are buried under the sand.
