The beautiful Juvenile Emperor Angelfish (Pomacanthus imperator) is highly sought after by photographers due to its striking patternation of white, black and bright blue concentric circles. It is thought that the pattern and quick movements of this fish are designed to confuse any potential predatora. This fish is very skittish and reasonably rare which makes photography difficult.
This one is swimming against a large coral reef head on the ocean floor on the coral reef surrounding Phi Phi Island off the coast of Phuket, Thailand in the Andaman Sea.
