A portrait of a beautiful Blue and Yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna) with a piece of bark in its claw in an open habitat at the Parrot Jungle Island Zoological Garden in Miami, Florida.
These macaw's are native to South America from Panama through to northern Argentina. Illegal traffic in live birds has put the species in imminent danger of extinction and it is on the endangered list for birds.
