A dominent adult Male Blackbuck Antelope (Antilope cervicapra) in a nature reserve at the Lion Country Safari Park in Florida, USA. This male displays the dark black colors of an older, dominent male. Females and immature males are lighter in color.
The male's straight, ringed horns twist 3 or 4 times and are about 2 feet long. If danger approaches, blackbuck will spring up into the air - a behavior called pronking - to alert the rest of the herd.
This species is native to India and Pakistan, although there are also wild herds in the USA which originated from released zoo stock.
