(see this users gallery) A single Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) sits back on a branch of a tree and emits the famous 'laughing' sound this species is known for.
Kookaburras are most famous for their shrieking call which sounds something like wild laughter. Their bill is very large and strong in relation to their small body size. They are considered one of the largest species in the Kingfisher family.
