The Yellowtail Fangblenny (Meiacanthus atrodorsalis) is distinguished from the similar Bicolor Fangblenny by the presence of the black bar over the eye. This blenny spends the majority of its life above its burrow or tube as opposed to many other blenny's which spend most of their time in their hole.
Image taken on the Monique Bommie dive site which is part of the Great Deatched Reef system in far north Queensland in Australia.
Detached Reef's in this remote area are named as they are near - but not directly attached to the Great Barrier Reef system.
