A medium sized (about 12 inches in lenghth) Coral Grouper (Cephalopholis miniata) swimming on the side of a coral reef bommie in the remote north reefs in northern Queensland. This fish is displaying the pale bars which are occasionally seen on this species along with the usual covering of dark edged blue spots.
Image taken on the Pinnacle dive site which is part of the Great Deatched Reef system in far north Queensland in Australia.
Detached Reef's in this remote area are named as they are near - but not directly attached to the Great Barrier Reef system.
