A huge Giant Sea Fan (most likely Subgorgia mollis although possibly Gigantus gorgonus) grows on top of an old growth coral reef wall. This fan was approximately 10' across.
Image taken in the Rosie's Wall dive site which is part of the Small Deatched Reef system in far north Queensland in Australia.
Detached Reef's in the area are named as they are near - but not directly attached to the Great Barrier Reef system.
