A dark blue male Ribbon Eel (Rhinomuraena quaesita) looks out of its burrow in the ocean floor, displaying his prominent fan shaped nostrils and his teeth.
Ribbon Eels go through various gender stages going from the juvenile form (black) to the male form (dark blue) to female (yellow/pale blue or yellow phase).
