Deeply embedded in the ocean floor, this is a speciman of Pacific Penshell (Atrina pectinata). This species is found generally in shallow water and only the very top of the shell is generally visible as shown in this image.
Image taken at night in the shallow Twin Rocks shore dive in front of the Planet Dive Resort in Anilao in the Batangas region of The Philippines.
