This bright red and white Sea Star is a speciman of Vermillion Biscuit Sea Star (Pentagonaster dubeni). This species is known by a variety of common names including Marble Sea Star, Red Sea Star, Vermillion Sea Star, etc. It is characterized by the bright red plates with distintive white margins and is common across the cold waters of southern Australia.
