A Brittle Star (Ophiothrix sp.) against a bright star like backgorund from an open coral colony. This species, characterized by the maroon spots on each arm segment and on the center disk is considered endemic to The Philippines, although it is also suggested it is a color form on Ophiothrix purpurea.
Image taken during a night dive on the House Reef in front of the SeaQuest Dive Center site in Moalboal in the province of Cebu, The Philippines.
